As the industry grows, so does the demand for innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, streamline installation, and reduce operational costs. One of the most exciting advancements in this space comes from Stavanger, Norway – the WindSpider Technology.
At WindSpider we are passionate about lifting high & heavy and to be a contributor to the energy transition. We are setting a new standard for lifting operations related to installing and maintaining offshore wind turbines.
About the technology:
WindSpider is unique in the way it utilizes the wind turbine tower as support for the crane structure making it scalable, modular, and ready for the next generations of wind turbines.
We are a group of highly skilled and experienced individuals within the offshore industry. Since entering the market, WindSpider has received very good feedback and an increasingly growing interest from several major international wind industry players.
We have now initiated the first phase of building our first full-scale WindSpider system and are looking for qualified, motivated, and experienced personnel.
Lead Structural Engineer position overview:
This is a full-time position based at our modern offices in Forus, Stavanger.
As Lead Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and follow-up of the WindSpider structure leading a highly skilled team. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the structural integrity, functionality and safety of our offshore lifting system.
You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop advanced solutions for offshore wind turbine installation and maintenance. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, safety, and scalability of the WindSpider Technology.

Lead Structural Engineer position requirements:
We are looking for a motivated and skilled engineer with a “can-do” attitude and a team-player mindset. The right candidate should have:
- Experience in offshore structures and a strong understanding of Eurocode and DNV regulations
- Strong analytical skills within structural and marine engineering
- Experience in steel and aluminum structures
- Proficiency in advanced structural analysis using programs such as ANSYS, SAP2000, Mathcad, Nastran, or similar
- A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field
- Experience in installation and fabrication processes
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to write detailed reports
- Experience with crane/lifting operations (advantageous)
- Experience in marine operations (advantageous).
- 5+ years of relevant work experience (exceptional candidates with less experience will also be considered).
- Fluent English (Norwegian is an advantage).
